This park forms part of a huge mountainous area the peninsular and borders Khao Sok NP. The HQ is approached from the Phuket-Ranong road on the west coast. There are many trails from the HQ to the various waterfalls in the vicinity. The park is well maintained and is a good place to visit on a camping trip. The 1km long track/trail to Tam Nang waterfall is offers the best birding opportunities.

Here we often see Great Hornbill, Grey and Buff Woodpecker, Banded Broadbill, Banded Pitta, Lesser Fish-Eagle. A fruiting tree might be visited by over ten kinds of Bulbul in a day.
