Wat Thamsua or Tiger Temple

Wat Thamsua has in it's grounds a "hollow" limestone karst. Some steps lead up and into a small forest completely bounded by cliffs. As this area has been in the temple grounds for centuries, there has never been any hunting so the birds here are relatively unafraid of people. For the same reasons, there are also some very old and large trees.

This is a difficult place to find birds, not least because it is generally quite dark, but we are usually rewarded with a few interesting sighting like Banded Kingfisher, Blue Whistling Thrush and Fulvous-chested Jungle-Flycatcher.
